• Smoothies a Great Meal for Brace Wearers

  • Smoothies are great whether or not you are wearing braces. These can be especially good, if you take a little time to make them healthy.

    smoothie-729923_640Here’s an example of a healthy smoothie recipe. Add to a blender:

    • Milk (almond and coconut also work well)
    • 2 large spoonfuls of vanilla yogurt
    • 1 cup of frozen berry mix
    • 1 handful of spinach
    • 1 scoop whey protein powder
    • 3 ice cubes

    Blend until completely smooth, serve in a big glass with a straw and enjoy!

    Pineapple and Banana Smoothie

    • 4 ice cubes
    • 1/4 fresh pineapple – peeled, cored and cubed
    • 1 large banana, cut into chunks
    • 1 cup pineapple or apple juice

    Place ice cubes, pineapple, banana, and pineapple juice into the bowl of a blender. Puree on high until smooth.

    Thin Mint

    • 1 cup spinach, frozen (or 2 cups fresh)
    • 1 cup almond milk
    • 2 scoops chocolate protein powder
    • ¼ cup rolled oats
    • ⅛ teaspoon peppermint extract
