• Plan for Orthodontic Friendly Vacations

  • girl-410334_640It’s not too soon to start planning for your summer vacation, especially if someone is wearing braces. You need to plan your appointments. You also need to be prepared. We put together a list of items that will come in handy to have with you while you are out of town.

    We suggest:

    • Toothpicks or flosspick
    • Travel toothbrush
    • A mini bottle of mouth rinse
    • Orthodontic wax to help with discomfort from protruding wires

When you are on the road be especially careful not to eat food that will cause broken brackets or wire distortion. This is especially important because you won’t be close to Dr. Croft and his staff for a repair. Avoid these:

    • Chewy, sticky, or gummy food
    • Apples, pears and other whole fruits unless they are cut into wedges before consuming
    • Bagels and hard rolls
    • Corn on the cob
    • Hard candies
    • Hard cookies or pretzels
    • All varieties of nuts, including peanuts, almonds and cashews

Columbia Orthodontics is in three great location. One in Salmon Creek another in Cascade Park and our newest one in Battle Ground.
