Battle Ground Veterans’ Memorial Park

Just yesterday the City of Battle Ground began work on the Battle Ground Veterans Memorial Park.

The Battle Ground Veterans Memorial Park will be located in the park on SW 3rd Ave and SW 4th St. The event was held March 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.

The Park Advisory Board, City staff, and other stakeholders have developed and designed a Veterans Memorial to honor local veterans who have died in service to their country. This place of honor will provide the community an area for private reflection as well as a gathering place for events honoring the fallen. Project construction is slated to begin in early March.

All funding for the park is dependent on donations as well as in-kind contributions of services and materials.

Fundraising continues in order to maintain and complete all phases of the memorial. Engraved brick that recognize the service of any veteran, can be purchased for placement at the foot of the memorial; organizers continue to seek contractors willing to donate services and materials, particularly cement, stone veneer, and electrical.  The 2nd Annual Country Shindig Concert & Dance fundraiser will be held on Friday April 17th.
