So now that you have braces you probably have several questions about them. You might also find that your family and friends have several questions about your braces as well. Perhaps one of the most common questions you’ve heard, or will be hearing, is: “how long do you have to wear those things?”The answer to that can vary because it depends on a lot of factors, including your Battle Ground Orthodontist. However, you will determine a lot of those factors. These are two of the important aspects that play a role in how long you have to wear braces:
- · Starting point – the condition of your teeth when you start your treatment will play a big factor in how long you have to wear them. The type of problem you need corrected, along with the severity of the problem are both key aspects.
- · Diligence – the second leading factor in your treatment will usually be how well you adhere to the plan Dr. Croft has laid out for you. That means you need to wear your equipment, such as elastic bands, headgear and retainers, exactly as prescribed by Doctor Croft.
There are other factors that play a role in how long you have to wear braces, but these two factors will have the greatest impact in answering that question. Most people can expect to wear braces for a period of between 18 and 36 months. To learn more about braces click here.
