Your First Visit
As a courtesy to you, Columbia Orthodontics does not charge for the initial visit. It is not necessary to be referred by your personal dentist to come see us. As a first time patient you will receive a comprehensive examination and a private consultation. Digital photographs and radiographs of your teeth will be taken to help explain your orthodontic problems. If the doctor feels that treatment is indicated we can take models of your teeth so that you can get started as soon as you desire. Our goal at this first visit is to ensure that before you leave, your questions are answered and you have a complete understanding of the orthodontic problems and treatment recommendations.
Regular Appointments
Your first appointment to get braces usually takes from one and a half to two hours. After that you can expect to have your adjustments at regular 6 to 8 week intervals for approximately 30 minutes. Our offices are conveniently located in Salmon Creek, Cascade Park, and Battle Ground. Hours vary by location so please call for scheduled dates and times.
If you are unable keep an appointment, notifying us immediately is appreciated. We encourage you to schedule your appointments 6 to 8 weeks in advance. Most of our adolescent patients prefer after school times. Scheduling in advance ensures you get the time most convenient for you.

Payment & Office Policies
Cost
Orthodontic treatment is an excellent investment in the overall medical and psychological well-being of children and adults. The cost of treatment depends on the severity of each patient's problem. Your fees as well as multiple payment options will be discussed before any treatment begins. Financial considerations should not be an obstacle to obtaining this important health service.
We have payment plans to suit different budgets, including a no-down-payment option. If there is more than one family member that may be needing treatment, you can take advantage of the discount for additional family members. VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER and IQ CREDIT are also welcomed. In addition, we also accept assignment from most insurance plans, and file the necessary papers to the insurance company. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable.
Insurance
Many dental insurance plans cover a portion of orthodontic costs. We will review insurance coverage and help you obtain the highest possible reimbursement to make your treatment even more affordable. We ask that you assign your insurance benefit to us and then the remaining balance will be arranged for you to pay. We will help in every way we can by filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf.
